Your game.
Your data.

Shattervault is a browser game. You can play without entering your name, email, age, location or payment details. We do not sell gameplay data.

Progress on your device

Your scores, recent runs, cosmetics, sound preference and analytics choice are saved in your browser’s local storage. They stay on that device. Clearing website data removes them. You can export this information from Your stats or Privacy & settings.

Optional gameplay analytics

Analytics are off unless you enable them in Privacy & settings. If enabled, the game sets a pseudonymous, random visitor cookie and sends run start times, first-shot time, active play time, mode, seed, shot angles, upgrade offers and choices, weapon changes, vault clears, shield losses, revive choices and final results to this game’s own backend. A short referral label such as “challenge” can identify where a visit came from. We do not add advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, emails or IP addresses to gameplay records. Hosting providers may maintain their own operational logs.

We use these records to check game balance, identify bugs and calculate usage and retention. Engagement events are observational and are not used to award leaderboard scores. Run timing includes active time after a revive. A random session identifier expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. Scores are recalculated from run actions before being marked verified; this is not a guarantee against automated play. Reporting uses a rolling 90-day window. Older records are deleted when the next analytics request is received. The visitor cookie expires after 90 days unless renewed by another consented run.

Your choices

Turn analytics off at any time in Privacy & settings. This stops new gameplay reporting. “Delete my server analytics” removes records linked to this browser’s current visitor cookie and turns analytics off. Clearing the cookie before using that control can prevent us from linking older pseudonymous records to you. The portable portal build sends no analytics to this backend. On the main site, optional reporting covers Classic, Daily, Endless and Rush. Difficulty and scores do not depend on advertising value.

Leaderboard and player names

Classic, Daily and Endless runs automatically submit their seed, mode, shot angles and upgrade choices so the server can recalculate the score. Your best verified score, including saved progress from an unfinished run, appears publicly under a generated nickname, which you can edit on the leaderboard. Use a nickname, not personal or contact information. The game does not request an email or real name. This uses a separate random browser cookie lasting one year and does not enable analytics. Enable Private play in Settings to stop new submissions; your local progress still saves. Shared seed links use the same verified boards. The portable build remains local only.

House bots are clearly labelled, fixed score targets. They are not real visitors, simulated activity or part of player and usage statistics. Names are linked to the browser cookie and are not unique accounts.

Classic and Endless have separate all-time boards. Daily rankings reset at midnight UTC. Inactive run-validation records older than seven days are removed when a new ranked run starts. Verified score checkpoints and finished best-score records remain until you delete them. Classic and Endless all-time boards combine compatible rules releases; Daily uses the current daily challenge. Your chosen name is retained with your leaderboard identity. Use “Delete my leaderboard records” in Privacy & settings before clearing your cookie; without it, the game cannot identify your older records. The portable build does not submit ranked scores.

Sharing is your decision

Challenge links contain a game seed and referral label, not your identity. Result cards are created on your device. Sharing uses your browser’s share or clipboard feature only when you press the share button.

Hosting and access
